We regret to inform you that as of September 1, 2008, we will no longer be selling Heartgard, Frontline, Advantix or Advantage Multi by the dose. We will need to sell them in complete, closed packages. This is by recommendation of the manufacturers of these products as they are each either FDA or EPA labled products and should be dispensed to the consumer with the proper packaging to ensure proper administration and handling. As we are aware of the financial burden this may cause on our clients, we want to ensure that we are offering these products, as we have been, at comparable pricing to those found on the internet. In addition, with larger package purchasing, the companies offer free doses and rebates in certain circumstances, so please inquire if we do not inform you of these opportunities to save on your parasite control needs.

Before having your pet's prescription filled through an online pharmacy, call us for pricing. In many cases, we are the same price or less for prescriptions, including Heartgard and Frontline. We will also ship medications to you free of charge.

Drug manufacturers will not guarantee their products if they are purchased through an internet pharmacy. In addition to this, the Food and Drug Administration has found companies that sell counterfeit pet products, make fraudulent claims, dispense prescription drugs without requiring a prescription, and sell pet drugs that have expired. Because we are concerned for the safety of your pet, Shawsheen Animal Hospital will not authorize prescriptions to be filled through online pharmacies. If you still choose to use an internet pharmacy, you must pick up a written prescription, or we will be happy to mail one to you.
